What it is
The classic long-nose Peterbilt — the most recognisable truck in America. The 379 was produced from 1986 through 2007 and was the flagship owner-operator truck of its era. Many remain in service and in glider kits.

The 379 was the predecessor to the 389. It was produced from 1986 to 2007, with the last 379 rolling off the line in May 2007. Pre-2004 engines have no EGR; 2004+ ACERT engines have cooled EGR. Pre-2007 models have no DPF or SCR. Many 379s remain in service as glider kits, often with Series 60 engines.
